If you have a Google Pixel or a Samsung S8, you will have received a new update that will add something that other phones do not have. When the iPhone X came out, it had among its novelties the so-called Animojis, which consisted of the emoticons recreating the gestures of the face. Now Google has launched the so-called AR stickers to give it a hit.
Not only Apple is in this game, recently with the presentation of Honor V10, Huawei presented its own emoticons, time will tell which one is better.
What does it consist of?
This technology is based on ARcore. It is a platform to create augmented reality applications on Android using three technologies to work on the device: motion tracking, environmental understanding, and light estimation.
The goal is to track the position of the device as it moves and develop its own understanding of the real world. If you enter the camera application, there you will have the catalog of characters to use. Once selected, you can adapt the size and place it wherever you want. The magic of this will be that even if you move your position, it will look like it really is! You can turn around the character, approach, move away and adapt on the screen.
If you are a fan of Star Wars or Strangers Things, you can use their characters. Google has reported that it will expand its catalog making the experience even more fun. You can use this to take pictures and videos.
As we said, right now it is only available for Android 8.1 and the Samsung S8, but we can assume that later, it can be used in all smartphones that support the technology.
